Zinc Oxide - Product Details & Applications

Our manufacturing processes are designed to produce all the grades of Zinc Oxide that can cater to a wide spectrum of industrial application; covering cosmetics grade to food grade and rubber grade to paints grade of Zinc Oxide. We cover all grades like 99.0% min, 99.5% min, 99.7% min, 99.9% min ZnO purity and a few others.

Rubber

In the curing process for natural and synthetic rubber, the chemical reactivity of Zinc Oxide is utilized to activate the organic accelerator. It also has a beneficial effect on tensile strength and hardness. Zinc oxide adds properties to rubber, like, heat resistant and protects against UV degradation.

Paints

Zinc Oxide is used in paints to improve whiteness, tint retention, durability and non-darkening in the presence of sulphur fumes. In plastics, it imparts heat resistance and mechanical strength to the composites.

Cosmetics

The ability to absorb ultraviolet light makes Zinc Oxide an active ingredient of choice in suntan lotions. Zinc Oxide also has micro-nutrient properties and is used in dietary supplements and vitamin tablets.

Ceramics

Zinc Oxide reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion and imparts high brilliance and lustre and high stability against deformation under stress. In Opal-ware, it increases opacity, whiteness and lustre.

Agriculture & Animal Feeds

Minerals rich in Zinc Oxide increase crop productivity and life. Zinc-rich nutrients are used for animal feeds as they form an integral part of the enzyme system of the body.

Speciality Chemicals

Zinc Oxide is used as reducing agent in the manufacturing process of various chemicals, like, Zinc stearate, Zinc borate, Zinc diacrylate, etc. Zinc Oxide also used in special lubricants and grease formulations. Zinc Oxide is used in manufacturing of ZDDP (Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate) which is used in engine oils as an anti-corrosive agent and also known for its anti-wear properties.

Pharmaceutical Industry

Zinc is an essential micronutrient for humans, animals and plants. Thus, Zinc Oxide is used in nutritional additives in pharmaceutical industry. It is significantly being used in Zinc soap, ointment, dental inlays, food powders, etc.

Production Process & Packaging

We manufacture Zinc Oxide by the French Process, adopting a dominant production technology in order to produce various grades of Zinc Oxide. Our manufacturing facilities use modern pulse jet bag filters and combustion systems which ensures high productivity, low energy consumption and maintains required standards with respect to emission norms. The ultimate objective is to implement green manufacturing – by reducing emissions and recycling and reusing to conserve natural resources for obtaining sustainable development.

We closely follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices and ensure that the concepts are ingrained in the people at the shop floor level as well.
